I have just finished my Bachelor’s in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and concentration in Theater and want to begin pursuing my Graduate Degree. I eventually would like to get into entertainment programming for a University or Performing Arts Center. Hi, I am a student at a technical high school, I want to become an engineer. but taking a performing arts is manditory, so i took it this year.

the teacher is pretty cool and easygoing. she hardly ever yells. so here is my question – do you guys think i could get away with doing a spit take? A spit take is when an actor drinks some liquid, and then spits it out in response to another character’s words or actions. the reason my character would be doing this is – my character is a man who has accumulated massive gambling debts. he thinks he has gotten away from the people he owes money, and plans to leave the city the next morning. he is sitting in a bar drinking, and in walks a huge, intimidating man holding a bat.

i’m sure that if i did the spit take, it would be funny, but i don’t know if i could get into trouble. if you were teaching the class, what would your reaction be? would you be laughing or would you be furious? do you think i should do it? continued…
also, lastly, what could the possible consequences be? i wouldn’t mind cleaning it up afterwards.
i’m not supposed to be drunk, just surprised.

I’ve done some research and have found a few, but none meet all of my wishes…so I may have to compromise, but I would like to know what performing art schools people find especially good or that fit my wishes…thanks for the help!
