Hi, I am a student at a technical high school, I want to become an engineer. but taking a performing arts is manditory, so i took it this year.

the teacher is pretty cool and easygoing. she hardly ever yells. so here is my question – do you guys think i could get away with doing a spit take? A spit take is when an actor drinks some liquid, and then spits it out in response to another character’s words or actions. the reason my character would be doing this is – my character is a man who has accumulated massive gambling debts. he thinks he has gotten away from the people he owes money, and plans to leave the city the next morning. he is sitting in a bar drinking, and in walks a huge, intimidating man holding a bat.

i’m sure that if i did the spit take it would be funny, but i don’t know if i could get into trouble. if you were teaching the class, what would your reaction be? would you be laughing or would you be furious? think i should do it?
also, what could the consequences be, at the worst? i don’t mind cleaning up the mess afterwards.

I am a dance teacher and want to apply to become a National Board Certified teacher, but looked at their categories, and they don’t have any for dance or theater…but I’m sure that there are dance or theater teachers out there that have looked into this? Does anyone know what category I could apply under?
My question is posed to other teachers who have a National Board Certification, or are currently applying for one. (I doubt other people know enough about National Board Certification to answer the question.)

im 13 and i love the performing arts dancing singing acting. where i live there is no place to do any of this! i was just wondering when i am older and able to move… can you get in to the performing arts and orditi with no exprience if ou are pretty good?

I dont want to drive very far, so 30 mins away should be the max. I googled it and the closest one was like 2 hrs away. Is there any good performing arts schools near Austin? Thanks for your help
