Help on Performing Arts Auditions.?

I am looking into doing a performing arts course- i DIDNT do drama at school. Most of the courses ask for a ‘workshop audition’ which is the part that is putting me off as i dont have much experience in this area. Im sure i would enjoy acting once i can get over the first few hurdles. Can anyone advise me on ideas and practice for the auditions.

Performing arts school / college HELP?
